Our Shichimi Togarashi is a unique take on the Japanese spice blend with roasted sesame, locally grown hemp and toasted chilli for a rich, warm and nutty base. As well as the traditional kelp, ginger and szechuan, we included native horopito for wild bushy notes as well as both orange and lime for a vibrant, zesty finish that gives a bold, nuanced, and pleasantly bitter note perfect for soups, noodles, fish, grilled meats or vegetables.
Toasted sesame, hemp hearts, chilli, szechuan peppercorns, orange (5%), horopito (4%), ginger, kelp, salt, lime. Contains sesame.
FISH - Sprinkle over grilled fish or sashimi for a nutty, citrusy finish.
NOODLES - Add to yakisoba, ramen or udon for a spicy kick.
AVOCADO ON TOAST - Top your avocado on toast for a gentle nutty spice.
RICE - Sprinkle over steamed rice, sushi or donburi.
EGGS - Dust over scrambled, fried, or poached eggs.
GRILLED MEATS - Use over chicken or beef skewers after grilling.
DUMPLINGS - Toss hot dumplings in chilli oil and finish with Shichimi for added heat and zest.
CUCUMBER - Slice cucumbers, drizzle with sesame oil, and sprinkle Shichimi for an easy summer salad.

Delicious rubbed on pork fillet and on spicy noodles.
Perfect rub for venison before pan searing. Holds its heat and amazing flavor through to the plate!
Have used the Orange & Horopito Shichimi a few times since purchasing it a few weeks ago. Fabulous sprinkled over a bowl of cooked noodles or scattered over a pan of pre-roast veggies. Next up I am going to try it on a pile of scrambled eggs.
